Trainee Nutritional Therapist BSc
I think its safe to say that for most of my adult life, I have been passionate about good food. Although it probably became most prolific when I became a parent. I believed that providing a growing child with a balanced nutritional based diet, was beneficial for both body and mind. Having sent most of my childhood watching the females around me, constantly restricting or gorging with food contributed to me having an unhealthy approach to food and dieting. I suspected that by following a healthy eating regime could help with medical issues that had bothered me for as long as I could remember. As a lover of food, I was quite partial to a fast food fix, usually from a local takeaway. With my health at the forefront of my thinking. I decided to ditch the junk food and create simple, tasty meals, that didn’t leave me craving for more, or for junk. The transition to eating better did not happen over night and I would say I am still learning every day but by switching a few ingredients I know that my health has improved, I feel well, my skin, hair and mood have improved.
MY JOURNEY
It was important for me not to make any drastic changes, that were not sustainable in the long term, so for me, it has taken me many years to find what works best for me. I started by cutting out all red an processed meat, followed by cutting out meat completely. I now follow a mostly pescatarian diet with reduced saturated fat and sugar. I don’t proclaim to offer a one size fits all approach, I worked with my body and what works best for me. The majority of the recipes I share are based around the foods I eat.
I look to unravel each individual clients concerns and work to find a solution. It is not a one size fits all policy.
With the constant change and development within the field of nutrition, I continue to educate myself, to enable me to support people to achieve a healthy balanced lifestyle. I firmly believe there is a solution to every problem, you just have to find it. With this in mind, I look to unravel each individual clients concerns and work to find a solution. It is not a one size fits all policy
WHAT DO I DO?
I am often asked what do I need to cut out to improve my health? If only it was that simple. As we are all different, in the way we live our lives to our genetic make up, as such in each consultation I will assess each persons basic health along with their family health history. I will look at any established dietary habits and lifestyle. With this information I will work to find a positive food based solution and make recommendations to improve health and well being. I do not believe in eliminating particular food groups unless there is a medical reason to do so.

WHERE IS MY PASSION?
There is a saying, “let food be thy medicine”. This is absolutely the foundation of my passion and where my desire to develop my skills has come from. Having always been a some what of an obsessional foodie, I love working with people to show that good food doesn’t have to be complicated and the mission is to educate people from all walks of life to improve their long term health. I have worked with numerous organisations and individuals to create magical individual menus and meal plans to suit every palette and budget. The food I work with is mostly locally produced.
My sense of satisfaction comes from working with those people who are sceptical of the benefits and the power of food and transforming their way of thinking and their ability to cook.
My sense of satisfaction comes from working with those people who are sceptical of the benefits and the power of food and transforming their way of thinking and their ability to cook. My vision is to support others to choose and enjoy good nutritious food, food that can be easily accessible, simple to prepare, quick to cook and packed with flavour.

Recently I have been thankful to work with professional kitchens, supermarkets, hotels and individuals. I have met some exceptionally talented chefs and hope to bring some of what I have seen to the wider population.
